Celebrating Isabelle: A First-Time Pass and a Breath of Fresh Air

There’s nothing quite like starting the week with a big win, and this Monday brought one of the best—Isabelle passed her driving test on her very first attempt!

Isabelle joined The Collective only a few weeks ago, after her previous instructor retired suddenly and left her with lots to work on, but from day one she stood out. She’s the kind of pupil every instructor hopes for: hardworking, genuinely eager to learn, and always listening (even to my worst jokes). Every lesson, she brought a brilliant attitude—chatty, positive, and completely up for every challenge I threw her way.

What really set Isabelle apart was her ability to take feedback on board, put it into practice, and not be afraid to ask questions. She didn’t just want to “get through” her lessons—she wanted to enjoy them. And she did! We had to unpick a lot of bad habits and go over basics more thoroughly to make sure she understood the Why as well as How. Watching her grow in confidence behind the wheel (and still keep a smile on her face when I sprung a surprise roundabout or two) was honestly a joy.

By test day, she’d put in the work, trusted the process, and proved to herself she was ready. The result? A well-deserved first-time pass.

Congratulations, Isabelle! I’m so proud of you. You’ve shown what’s possible when you combine effort with the right mindset—and you’ve reminded me why I love doing what I do.

Here’s to many safe, happy miles ahead.

I will miss our lessons!
I will miss our lessons!
